It's Your Life

Last month we finished reading Po Bronson's What Should I Do With My Life. It was an eye opening experience for us.

In What Should I Do With My Life Po Bronson tells the true stories of people who have found the most meaningful answers to that great question. With humor, empathy, and insight, Bronson writes of remarkable individuals - from young to old, from those just starting out to those in a second career - who have overcome fear and confusion to find a larger truth about their lives and in doing so, have been transforemd by the experience.

A few weeks ago we wrote on our Facebook wall "Life is like one big math equation." This meaning we make money, we spend money, we make time, we spend time, the key is to find the right balance between playing and working. If you are lucky you get to play for a living!! Or better yet, you win the lotto and you don't have to work for the rest of your life. Then it's play time all the time!

For a while we thought of ourselves as being our job. After all, we live in New York City where the phrase "what do you do?" is uttered right after "Hello." Although what we do for a living is part of our identity it does not fully describe us. We more than what we choose to do in order to make money. This is the same for gender as you may already know. Whether you identify as male or female or somewhere in-between it is simply just a PART of who you are.

One of the reasons I like this book is because you get to see into real people's lives. You get to see their mistakes, and you get to see their bravery. It really is inspiring.

If you're not fully satisfied in life, or are curious to see how other people live their lives I recommend you get a copy of What Should I Do With My Life
