What do U Do when Not Masturbating?

"We tend to think of work as something that takes our energy. Leisure is what we do to build it up again. Leisure offers a respite, a passive break from the challenges of the day, a chance to rest and recharge. Recreation carries a more active tone - literally of re-creating ourselves. It suggests activities that require physical or mental efforts but which enhance our energies rather than depleting them. I associate the Element much more with recreation than with leisure." - Ken Robinson, Ph. D. from his book "The Element"

The above paragraph stood out from all paragraphs in the book "The Element." It speaks volumes regarding how we choose to spend our time.

One of the recurring themes in my life is that sooner or later my friends become frustrated with me because I don't spend as much leisure time with them as they would like. It sure is flattering to not be cast aside as a leper, but I understand their frustration.

Not too long ago with the help of my friend Aaron, on FB, we came up with a list of options/preferences on how to spend your time here on Earth.

1) alone, spending money, talking
2) alone, spending money, not talking
3) alone, making money, talking
4) alone, making money, not talking
5) together, making money, not talking
6) together, making money, talking
7) together, spending money, not talking
8) together, spending money, talking

Personally my favorites, at this stage in my life, are 4, 5 , and 6 in that order. You would think I'm Jewish or something.

This is where some of my friends frustration comes into play. You see, when a friend invites you to go to a movie, a bar, a park, a restaurant, etc - you know, the usual things people do with friends - this means, in part, that what they are asking of you is to do option 7 & 8. You might say "Adrian, a walk in the park with a friend is free," but it isn't. Every moment you are not working towards making money is a moment that equals spending money. Remember that old saying "Time is Money." If you've ever been unemployed you understand this principle.

So, even though I don't spend much time entertaining options 7 & 8. I still have my share of leisure time. Recently I traveled with a friend (option 7,8), and I love doing karaoke (option 8).

And not too long ago I watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World with the BF, went to Raff's to watch Rupaul's Drag U, attended Jeffery and Cole's season two launch party, and checked out Deryck Todd's fashion art at a Soho gallery. I feel I get out of the house enough.

Of course options 1 & 3 seem a bit strange to some people being that you may think that only crazy people talk to themselves; however I personally don't trust anyone who doesn't talk to themselves out loud. It's only when they reply to themselves that you should be concerned. Right Amnesia?

I find the concept of work and leisure interesting because there are a lot of cross-dressers that visit this site, males who work a day job and then come home to slip into some sexy women's clothing as part of their leisure time. I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. Cross-dressing can be liberating and therapeutic. And I love to show off our leisure sisters on this site, it's part of my Recreation.

As Ken Robinson would ask:
"If left to my own devices - if I didn't have to worry about making a living or what others thought of me - what am I most drawn to doing?"

That's why I enjoy doing this site, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Which of the above options are your favorites? How do you prefer to spend your time?

PS - Tonight is a night of leisure and recreation. I'm having a friend over for dinner after working with Deryck Todd on the new Bowieball video edit. I'm making my world famous Mojo/Sazón Chicken with Carrots and Potatoes!!!
