OMA Red Carpet62
(Avi at the 2009 Out Music Awards. photo: Adrian Acosta)

A couple days ago we mentioned how Tina Fey got the Mark Twain Prize over the weekend at the Kennedy Center. You know who else was on stage at the Kennedy Center this past weekend? None other than our dear friend the talented Violinist Bjorn DelaCruz. Mister DelaCruz was playing alongside the very awesome Avi Wisnia.

This is my second time listening to Avi in concert, first time being in person a few months back here in New York, and I must say - this cat really knows how to play.

I strongly suggest you pop open a bottle of red wine, get cozy alone or with a loved one, and enjoy this wonderful concert from beginning to end.

Avi gives us a really fun version of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," and a sweet moody "Lovesong" by The Cure.

You can't miss Avi's beautiful song "New Year," and his message of hope for those affected by bullying and suicide. Simply beautiful. (24min mark in video)

If you're too busy to give it your full attention I suggest you keep this playing in the background.
The soothing effects will do you good.

Also feel free to carry some of Avi's musical gems in your iPod by downloading his new album click HERE

btw - I must say that all the musicians playing with Avi are phenaminal but I have a special big, warm, soft spot for his girl drummer Kim Garey. There's something special about a girl drummer that makes me smile from ear to ear. You go girl!!
